KC Rivers on his future: Curious to see what will happen. I am not a star, I’m a glue guy

KC Rivers had a long interview with SDNA

Interview with KC Rivers at SDNA:

Plans for next season: “I am curious to see what will happen. I always tell people that I am not that big man, a star. I am just a glue guy, that kind of fits the pieces of the puzzles. I never looked it like a big-big piece”.

Cooperation with Sarunas Jasikevicius: “I love Saras. Lot of people are asking: “He yells so much, how are you dealing with it?”. But, he knows what he is talking about. He still sees the game as a player, even now that he is a coach. He sees things before they happen, even in scouting. He is very well-prepared. I love guys like that, he brought the best out of me. That was good for me. I was back in Euroleague, under him. He really knew how to drive me. I greatly appreciate it and now I definetely respect it”.

About Saras & stories with Panathinaikos: “We had Zach LeDay on the team, who had played for Olympiacos. We were joking with him about things between Panathinaikos and Olympiacos. Anytime we had a moment of discussion with most of the team, he was explaining how things were working in Panathinaikos. He was telling me to give my opinion too, to back up what he was saying”.

Feelings during the time he was a free agent, after his contract with Panathinaikos ended: “I questioned myself, of course. I went though a slight stage of depression. I literally thought that maybe it was over. Everybody pretty much kind of giving up one me. I started questioning how I was as a person, what I had done wrong. I was slowly trying to figure it out. Eventually, I got over it and sayed that I will make the best of whatever it is. My ultimate goal was to go back in Euroleague. I wasn’t at a point that I couldn’t deal with it. It was more that depression that I was thinking like: ‘Jesus, I won’t get a job, this is it’. It wasn’t like someone that needed to be watched for”.
