Kalev/Cramo ends its season due to the Coronavirus outbreak in Estonia

Estonian side was 8th in VTB League and 3rd in National League.

Estonian side BC Kalev/Cramo has announced, with an official statement, to have ended its season due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The team had a member infected with Coronavirus in the recent days, and has stated that no other team members has had any symptoms of the virus.

As stated in the official statement: “The Estonian government has declared an emergency situation due to the pandemic spread of the coronavirus in the world and the likely further spread of the virus within Estonia. Unless decreed otherwise by the government, the emergency situation remains in force until 1st of May 2020. The changes in the normal routine affect, among other things, schools, cultural activities, and cruises. All public gatherings are prohibited, it means also that all sports competitions are prohibited until the 1st of May. Due to the coronavirus spread and risks BC Kalev/Cramo team is forced to cancel our season. The Estonian-Latvian league is canceled for this season and VTB League is suspended until the 10th of April. Russia closed its borders until the 1st of May”.

VTB League has accepted Kalev’s decision, and stated that they hope to resume the season after April 10.
