JR Smith turns down offer from Jiangsu

Jiangsu tried to bring Smith back to China

Free agent guard JR Smith was offered $1.6M net from Chinese team Jiangsu but he turned down the proposal made by the Chinese team, a source told Sportando.

Smith has already played in China, early in his career, with Zhejiang averaging 34.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 2011-2012.

Smith, who won the NBA title with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, has been waived by the franchise in July before his $15.6 million contract for next season became guaranteed.
