Joel Embiid on having COVID-19: “I really thought I wasn’t going to make it”

Embiid returned last night after a 9-game absence

After returning from a 9-game absence in Sixers loss to the Wolves, star Joel Embiid opened up on having COVID-19: “I really thought I wasn’t going to make it. It was that bad.” He also added that his first workout was a couple days ago and it’s a "miracle" he played 45 minutes tonight.

Sixers star welcomed also the solidarity of Karl Towns, whom he had several differences on and off the court in the past: “I told Embiid I’m very happy he’s doing well. We’ve had our thing for a while, but this is bigger than basketball. That’s bigger than what we have. I’ve seen it kill people. And I’m glad he’s on the other side”.
