Jimmy Butler’s request for blank nameplate on jersey denied

Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler request to have a blank nameplate on the back of his jersey has been denied by the league, as reported by Tim Reynolds of AP.
Butler hoped to wear a blank nameplate to underscore the idea that he would be “no different than anybody else of color” if he were not in the NBA.
