Olimpia Milano has reached an agreement for two years with Jerian Grant, born in Silver Spring, Maryland, on October 9, 1992, 1.96 mt tall, guard, coming from Promitheas Patras of the Greek League. "We have been following Grant for a long time, he is an NBA-experienced player, a former first-round pick and we are just happy that he decided to be part of our program," says general manager Christos Stavropoulos. "Words cannot describe the excitement and enthusiasm that I have about playing for Olimpia Milano – Grant said – I come with only one goal in my mind and that is to do whatever I can do to help us win. And now I can’t wait to get started."
HIS CAREER – Jerian Grant attended DeMatha High School in Maryland and then Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana, where he played 120 games averaging 14.5 points and 5.8 assists per game (16.5 points and 6.7 assists during his last season). In 2015, he was chosen in the first round of the NBA draft by the Washington Wizards (number 19) and immediately traded to the New York Knicks. In the NBA, he played for five seasons, one in New York, two in Chicago then Orlando and Washington, with 279 appearances including 61 starts, 1.692 points scored and 805 assists. 2017/18 was his best season, while with the Bulls. He averaged 8.4 points and 4.6 assists per game. He also appeared in 41 G-League games averaging 16.9 points and 5.7 assists per game. During the last season, he has played 27 games at Promitheas in Greece averaging 14.8 points, 6.9 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game. His team finished third in the regular season and reached the semifinals in the playoffs.
NOTES – Jerian Grant is the son of Harvey Grant, who spent 11 seasons in the NBA including seven in Washington; his uncle is Horace Grant who played 17 seasons in the NBA including seven in Chicago with three championships. He won a fourth championship with the Lakers in 2001. His older brother Jerai Grant played in Italy in Brindisi, his younger brother Jerani Grant currently plays for the Detroit Pistons.
