JDA Bourgogne Dijon is pleased to announce the recruitment, until the end of the season, of American combo guard Ahmad Caver (27 years old – 188cm).
In a season full of dangers with three relegations to ProB and with a very homogeneous Betclic ELITE, JDA Bourgogne Dijon has decided to add to its roster a complementary player capable of bringing more stability to the backline. Trained at Old Dominion University in Norfolk in the NCAA, Ahmad first honed his skills as a professional player in the NBA G-League (for 3 seasons) with impressive stats (16.5pts + 4.1rebs and 3.8asts for the 2021-22 season) before having the opportunity to play a match in the NBA with the Indiana Pacers. During the summer of 2022, he embarked on a European adventure and joined the Vilnius Wolves in Lithuania as a teammate of former Dijon player Rashard Kelly and sharpshooter Adas Juskevicius. There, he had a stunning season, finishing as the top scorer of the championship (17.1pts), the 3rd best passer (5.8ast), and the 4th best stealer (1.9ints) while also experiencing the European Cup with the FIBA Europe Cup.
Engaged at the beginning of the year with Hapoel Holon, Ahmad has chosen not to continue the season in Israel in the current context and to turn towards a new project and integrate as quickly as possible into a European roster. He will arrive at the beginning of this week in Dijon and will undergo all the necessary tests for a quick qualification in order to take part in the collective training sessions as soon as possible.
