An instant classic in Madrid, as Real beats Maccabi 86-85 thanks to a clutch three-pointer from Jaycee Carroll (14 with 4/7 from behind the arc). The Spanish side conquers a nail-biter thanks also to a strong performance from Jordan Mickey (16 with 11 rebounds and 6 foul drawn for a PIR of 30), with Randolph (11) and Campazzo (10) ending in double-digit as well. The visitors were led by the trio formed by Wilbekin (22), Bryant (15) and Dibartolomeo (15 but in 16’limited by foul trouble).
Maccabi started well the game with Wilbekin scoring all the team first 7 points, but an effort from Randolph and Campazzo brought Real up by 5. In the second quarter Maccabi relies heavily on Elijah Bryant, who scored 11 consecutive points for his team, but a stellar Jordan Mickey (10 points in the quarter) and a couple of shots from Causeur were enough to give Real a 6-point lead at halftime (50-44).
Maccabi started strong the second-half on a 12-0 run with threes from Acy, Wolters and Dibartolomeo, but Real bounced back with Randolph and Campazzo. After the third it’s all even in Madrid at 65 apiece, but Maccabi’s run continued in starting the fourth with a 9-0 run between quarter propelled by Bryant and Hunter. Causeur and Carroll keep Real alive, but the Scottie Wilbekin show continues with Maccabi keeping a small margin repeatedly. Deck ties it with a little less than 2’to play, but Wilbekin continues to score reaching his 11th point of the quarter and giving his side a 2-point lead with 10” to play. But after a timeout Jaycee Carroll notches a turnaround three leaving 2” on the clock, with Acy unable to take a good shot at the buzzer.
