Jasikevicius-Bartzokas tension, post-match altercation
Tension between Jasikevicius and Bartzokas, the two coaches’ statements after the Fenerbahce-Olympiakos game.
At the end of the match between Fenerbahce and Olympiacos, which the Turkish team won, coaches Jasikevicius and Bartzokas were the protagonists of some tense seconds. Here are their post-match statements.
Bartzokas’ words: Whatever happened in the game, we both got a technical. When I tried to shake hands with Jasikevicius at the end, he didn’t. It is totally disrespectful to attack me. There was no conversation, he attacked me”.
Jasikevicius’ version: “We have a very good relationship with Georgios, but I heard some comments he made and I had to react. This is the second time he has lectured me on coaching from the sidelines. The first time was when he was at Khimki. I don’t allow any coach to tell me what to do with my team. I find that unacceptable”.
