Isaiah Austin signs with Nanjing Tongxi Monkey King

The 7-foot-1 center averaged 33.2 points and 10.4 rebounds in the Chinese NBL this past summer.

Former Baylor center Isaiah Austin has signed a deal with Nanjing Tongxi Monkey King of the Chinese Basketball Association, agent Charles Misuraca of Slash Sports told Sportando.

The 7-foot-1 big man had impressive numbers in the NBL, the Chinese summer league, averaging 33.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game, and ultimately agreed to terms with Nanjing Tongxi for the upcoming CBA season.

Austin was a projected first-round pick in 2014 until he was diagnosed with Marfan syndrome. Two years later, he was given the permission to play basketball again and signed his first pro deal in Serbia with FMP Belgrade. Last season, he played in Taiwan, Lebanon and Philippines.
