The starting point of LeBron James’ journey from basketball prodigy to NBA scoring champion is being honored.
On November 25, LeBron James’ Home Court, a museum honoring James and his numerous accomplishments, will open in Akron.
A multi-media experience, the museum will feature artifacts from his youth, his playing career in high school, and his championship campaigns with the Cleveland, Miami, and Los Angeles Lakers, as well as a reconstruction of the apartment where he and his mother, Gloria, resided.
House Three Thirty, a building established by James’ foundation to benefit the neighborhood where he grew up, is home to the museum.
“My dream was always to put Akron on the map, so to have a place in my hometown that allows me to share my journey with my fans from all over the world means a lot to me,” said James. “I’ve been known to hang on to a lot of things over the years, and I always knew there would be a time and place to bring them out.”
A four-time NBA champion, James, 38, is in his 21st season as a pro. Last year, he passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the leading scorer in league history.
