The Hawks have announced another major recruiting coup with the signing of former NBA star Aaron Brooks.
He will be the most experienced NBA guard to ever play in the NBL. Brooks earned the NBA Most Improved Player of the Year award in 2010 when he averaged 19.6 points per game, 5.3 assists per game and 2.6 rebounds per game.
Brooks began his NBA career after a stellar college career at the University of Oregan. He was selected with the 26th Pick in the 2007 Draft by the Houston Rockets.
His signing follows the announcement that highly rated NBA Draft prospect LaMelo Ball would also join the Hawks this season as part of the NBL’s Next Stars program.
Hawks General Manager, Mat Campbell, said: “Aaron Brooks is a bona fide NBA player who will bring tremendous experience and basketball IQ to the Hawks.
“These are exciting times for the club and we are building a roster that is going to be not just a big talking point but help deliver on court this season.
“The Hawks will be the hottest ticket in town next season and the best way to ensure your seat is to buy a membership and get on board for what promises to be a great ride.”
