Igor Crespo on Mirotic future: First close one phase and then look for a solution for the next one

Igor Crespo, Nikola Mirotic’s agent, spoke this morning to Spanish radio station RAC1. Here are some of his statements to journalist Jordi Basté.

“Everything has been clear for months. When the club proposed the idea of resolving the contract, I replied: okay, let’s do it. I told the player to freely choose his future, but it is right to first close one phase and then look for a solution for the next one”.

The journalist lists the names of the teams interested in Nikola Mirotic according to the media. From Greek to Serbian teams, passing through Monaco and Olimpia Milano. Is there a risk that they cannot wait too long? “I have no idea if they will wait or not for our agreement with Barcelona. I don’t even know if this agreement will be there. Then it is normal that there is interest, it would be strange if it were the opposite. I think the market considers him the best player in Europe. But with Barcelona, I have been clear: I will not negotiate anything until the situation with them is resolved. Moreover, I can’t even legally do so”.

And Jorge Crespo says he is willing to negotiate with Barcelona: “We are always willing to negotiate everything, to sit at a table and talk about everything. We have always been available and continue to be so. We are always open, we never close a channel of communication”.

And in the past there have been cuts: “He has already reduced his salary twice, a third time he then modified the contract itself. And even the fourth time he would have been available”.
