Trae Young, the point guard for the Atlanta Hawks, was ejected from a game against the Indiana Pacers for throwing the ball at referee Scott Wall in frustration after being called for an offensive foul. This resulted in Young being assessed his 15th technical foul of the season and facing the possibility of an automatic one-game suspension with one more technical. Hawks coach Quin Snyder said that Young knows he made a mistake and there was no attempt to rationalize what happened. Despite Young’s absence, the Hawks managed to win the game, improving their season record to 37-37 and maintaining their No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference. Young finished the game with 14 points and five assists in 21 minutes.
