Golden State Warriors: Gary Payton II picks-up $9.1 Million Player Option for 2024/25
Last year the guard scored 5.4 points with 2.6 rebounds in 15 minutes per game
Golden State Warriors guard Gary Payton II has exercised his player option of about 9.1 million for the 2024/25 season, as reported by ESPN’s Kendra Andrews.
Starting in July, Payton II will be eligible to negotiate an extension, but the Warriors’ intentions in this regard are unclear.
The team’s payroll rises to about 137 million guaranteed for eight players, so should Thompson, Paul and Looney’s contracts be confirmed or extended, they would be back again over the Luxury Tax threshold, expected to be around 171 million.
