Giannis Antetokounmpo leads MVP race according to ESPN’s media survey

Antetokounmpo received 60 1st-place votes out of 70

Reigning NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is the leader in the race for the 2019-20 award in a recent survey of 70 media members with ESPN. The survey follows the same criteria as the official NBA rules, with 1st-place votes being worth 10 points, seven points for 2nd place, five for third, three for fourth, and one for fifth.


Antetokounmpo received 60 votes for 1st place and 10 for 2nd place, combining for 670 points. He is followed by LeBron James with 514 points. James Harden, Luka Doncic and Kawhi Leonard complete the top 5.


Other players who earned points were Anthony Davis, Chris Paul, Nikola Jokic, Pascal Siakam, Damian Lillard, Jayson Tatum, and Bradley Beal.
