G League players to vote on formation of union on Saturday

The vote would require the support of over 50% of players to pass.

G League players will vote on whether to form a union, league sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The vote will take place on Saturday, with agents and players optimistic that a union will be formed.

A newly-formed union could collectively bargain issues with the NBA and G League, with past issues including housing, travel, and salary. The union would be separate from the NBPA, and would not include players sent down from their parent teams or players on two-way contracts.
