Former NCAA star and NBA first round pick Royce White announced today his candidacy for Minnesota’s Fifth Congressional District, seeking to unseat US Rep. Ilhan Omar as a Republican
White, who had little luck in the NBA and has not played professional basketball since 2018, has been politically outspoken in recent years, for example in the wake of the murder of George Floyd, in protesting against the Uyghur genocide or becoming a regular guest on former Donald Trump adviser Steve Bannon’s online shows
