EuroLeague reportedly sends team draft protocol for maintaining the players’ health in covid times
Each team has to have one coronavirus test per week, each team has to appoint a corona manager and a player positive will go in quarantine for two weeks
EuroLeague season should start on October 1st but the final decision will be taken in a couple of weeks following the meeting between the teams, as reported by Walla.
This week the 18 clubs received a detailed and meticulous document containing the draft protocol for maintaining the players’ health.
All players and coaches will be required to undergo at least one coronavirus test per week, three days before the game takes place. Where the infection rate is high, the coronavirus tests are two per weeks, with the additional one scheduled the day prior the game.
If a player tests positive, the entire teams won’t be required to go in self-isolation. After a member of the team tests positive, the team will be tested again the day after the three and half days later. A player positive will have to go in quarantine for two weeks and will be cleared to return to the court only with two straight negative tests.
Each team will have to appoint a coronavirus manager in the next two weeks.
Regarding the fans on the stands, each team will follow the rules of its own country.
