Erie BayHawks acquire Tony Carr

Erie waives guard EC Matthews to open roster spot for Carr.

The Erie BayHawks, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, announced today that they have acquired guard Tony Carr through the NBA Draft Rights rule.


Carr (6-5, 204) appeared in two games this season with Parma Basket Perm of the VTB United League. In 37 career international games (27 starts), Carr has averaged 11.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 29.4 minutes. Carr spent two seasons playing collegiately for Penn State (2016-2018) prior to being selected by New Orleans in the second round (51st overall pick) of the 2018 NBA Draft.


To clear a roster spot for Carr, the BayHawks waived guard EC Matthews. In 15 games (one start) with Erie this season, Matthews averaged 3.7 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 12.7 minutes.
