Detroit Pistons coach Dwane Casey talks to MLive after the win over the Portland Trail Blazers, their 11th in a row at home: “We have some of the best fans, some of the most knowledgeable fans. People back in Toronto got upset, thought I was (disrespecting) them, but this organization has had three (championship) parades. They know winning basketball. They know what a championship looks like, tastes like and feels like.
There’s no disrespect to any other organization, but there’s not very many in our league that has multiple championships. I take pride in that, I cherish that, I take that challenge and I want our guys to take the challenge of where we want to go. We’re not there yet, we have some building to do. But our fans do understand, we have some great fans here, and I said earlier that we had to earn our fans’respect. They’re not just going to show up because you win a few games. We have to earn it, because they know you-know-what from Shinola”
The Pistons are sixth in the Eastern Conference standings with 39 wins in 76 games
