Dejan Kamenjašević, the mastermind behind the Dubai BC project, has announced that the club’s budget for the upcoming season will be 4 million euros. The team from the United Arab Emirates will participate in the ABA League and aims to compete in European competitions as well.
Kamenjašević revealed that the club’s biggest ambition is to hire Svetislav Pešić as the head coach. Pešić, currently leading the Serbian national team, is regarded as one of the greatest European coaches of all time.
“We have a clear project: bringing Europe to Dubai and Dubai to Europe,” said Kamenjašević. “Pešić has always been our dream, but the reality is we must wait until he finishes his commitments with the national team.”
The Dubai BC project aims to create a stable and competitive team based on a solid business model and a long-term vision for basketball development in the region.
