Datome: “I always follow Fenerbahce, I’m happy if they win, as long as it’s not against Milan”

Gigi Datome spoke about his time at Fenerbahce and his role in the Italian national team during an interview with TRT Spor microphones. Below are his statements.

Gigi Datome on Fenerbahce: “I always follow Fenerbahce and I was very happy when they won the Turkish Cup. I congratulated them. I also followed the change of coach and the quality of the team is very high. As long as they do not play against Milan, I am always a supporter of Fenerbahce. My friends in Turkey still have great affection for me. I am grateful for that. I will never forget the ceremony organized for me at the Ulker Sports Hall.”

On his new adventure in the national team: “Things are going well for me in the national team. I am at home. For many years my summers were spent with the national team. Now I am the manager of the national team, and it is interesting that my first game was against Turkey, a country I like very much”.
