Danilo Gallinari hopes to play FIBA Basketball World Cup for Italy’s NT next September

The Los Angeles Clippers forward also hopes Milos Teodosic won't leave the team to return to Europe

During a conference call, Los Angeles Clippers forward Danilo Gallinari said that he hopes to play for Italy the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup in China.

Italy needs a win against Hungary next February 22 to book the ticket for the FIBA flagship event.

Gallinari has not played a game in the World Cup qualifiers because injured in June/July’s window and without Clippers’permission in September.

Danilo Gallinari’s last game with Italy’s National Team is in the summer of 2017 when he fractured his hand during an exhibition game against Holland punching an opponent (Jito Kok). Due to the fracture, Il Gallo was forced to miss Eurobasket 2017.

Do you think you will be in China for the World Cup next September?
I hope so. I’ve never played in the World Cup and it would be a dream come true.

Il Gallo also said that he hopes Milos Teodosic will remain with the Los Angeles Clippers. There have been rumors about him going back to Europe sooner or later.

There have been a lot of rumours in the last month about your teammate Milos Teodosic
returning to Europe, what do you think about that? Would you recommend him coming to the Olimpia Milano?
Milos has been playing more minutes lately and he has played very well for us every time he has
played. We can use him more and more so I’m hopeful that he will stay with us. He’s a great guy and
we have a very good relationship so hopefully he can stay with us for the whole season.
