"I've played my final game with the Italian NT at the last World Cup"

CSKA Moscow point guard Daniel Hackett told EuroDevotion that he has retired from the Italian national team.

“I feel like it’s fair to step aside and make room for the new generation of players who deserve an opportunity to play,” the 31-year-old Hackett said. “Guys like [Marco] Spissu, [Davide] Moretti, [Nico] Mannion, they need to embrace this experience soon. It’s time for me to step aside and announce this here right away. I’ve played my final game with the Italian NT at the last World Cup.”
