Dallas acquire James Johnson in three-team trade with Detroit, Oklahoma City
Thunder gets Trevor Ariza, Pistons gets Delon Wright
Dallas Mavericks have acquired forward James Johnson in a three-team trade that saw Delon Wright going to the Detroit Pistons and Trevor Ariza to the Oklahoma City Thunder, reports Marc Stein of the New York Times. Thunder will also get additional draft compensation.
Johnson was acquired by the Thunder from the Minnesota Timberwolves as part of the Ricky Rubio trade and is on an expiring contract worth approximately $16 million. The deal will create additional cap space for the Mavericks in 2021. The Mavericks signed Wright to a three-year, $29 million contract last offseason, while Ariza has had a rollercoaster of a week with the Thunder being his fourth team since the NBA transactions began earlier this week.
