CSKA Moscow bids farewell to Daniel Hackett
Italian guard officially joined Virtus Bologna today
With a long press release CSKA Moscow has thanked Daniel Hackett for the four seasons spent with the team (201 games), in which the team also won the Euroleague trophy in 2019
Andrey Vatutin, CSKA President: “It is very difficult for me to say goodbye to Dani, such a player, such a person. I know that it is not easy for him to leave our club, of which he has become a part over these four years. Dani has always given 100 per cent – in the games, practices, in everything he did, and therefore deservedly became one of the most popular players in our team. He is a real fighter who led the teammates. His departure was forced by the demands of the time and family circumstances, and I ask all our fans to treat it with understanding, to keep warm feelings towards Dani and his family in their hearts. I sincerely wish Dani good luck in his new place, a long and successful career in sports. Thank you for all the victories and bright emotions! It was unforgettable”.
Dimitris Itoudis, CSKA head coach: “It was great four years, and it was a pleasure to work with Dani Hackett, to win together, to celebrate together, to confront the opponents. We are happy that he came here, became a part of the family, won his first EuroLeague title, got his MVP awards, helped us win. To Dani and his family I’d like to wish best of luck and health”.
Daniel Hackett: “It is very difficult to put into words the feelings I have had in the last week. Unfortunately, due to the situation that has arisen, I have decided to bring my family back home and to interrupt my journey with what for 4 years I have considered a second family. I am grateful to have shared this adventure with real winners. A club, its President, Coach, staff, and many teammates, over the years, who have helped me grow as a player and as a man. Thanks also to all the fans who have never stopped giving us their support. My family and I will always have CSKA in our hearts”.
