Clippers’ Westbrook expected to return next week
Former MVP has recovered from a fractured left hand and his recovery could turn out to be well ahead of initial timeline
Los Angeles Clippers guard Russell Westbrook is expected to return to the lineup next week — perhaps as soon as Monday vs. the Indiana Pacers, sources tell ESPN. Westbrook — one of the league’s top sixth men — had surgery to repair a fractured left hand three weeks ago.
Westbrook — a nine-time All-Star and the 2017 NBA MVP — has averaged 11 points, five rebounds and 4.4 assists in 23 minutes a game this season. His recovery and return could turn out to be well ahead of the initial timeline.
