Celtics to waive Lonnie Walker
Walker averaged 7.3 points in the preseason
The Boston Celtics opted to release guard Lonnie Walker, as reported by Shams Charania.
The 25-year-old guard could start the season in the G League with the team affiliated to the reigning champions.
Given their complicated salary situation, the Celtics were supposed to spend about $11 million between contract and Luxury Tax to retain Walker.
Most likely the team will start the regular season with 14 players.
