Žiga Mravljak will continue with his coaching career in Kormend in Hungary.
Mravljak returned to the Dragons before the start of the 2018/19 season, and took over the job of the head coach of the U19 team and the team Cedevita Olimpija mladi. He took the U19 team to the third place in the domestic championship, and Cedevita Olimpija mladi went from 4. SKL to 3. SKL in its first year of reestablishment. He was also the head coach of the senior team of Cedevita Olimpija in the first past of Nova KBM League, and he was an assistant coach to Jure Zdovc in the second part and the playoffs of the domestic league.
Sani Bečirović, sports director of BC Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana:
“Žiga Mravljak joined our club before the start of the last season, and took U19 team to another level with his commitment and energy, while leading the young Dragons to the third place in the domestic league and also leading our younger senior team to the 3. SKL. Mravljak expressed the wish to continue his coaching career in another place, so we have come to a mutual agreement to terminate the contract. We wish Žiga a lot of luck in the future, and also wish to thank him for everything he has done on the bench of the youth teams and our senior team.”
“I would like to thank to the club for the trust in working with the senior team and the youth teams, with which we had a lot of success. The main thing is, that we managed to get the youth teams of the club back on its feet, and a lot of young players from other clubs came knocking on the door. I would also like to thank the new leadership of Cedevita Olimpija in reaching the agreement upon my wish to terminate the contract, and so, the path to the new challenges opened for me. I would like to wish all the best to Cedevita Olimpija, and wish them to reach their goals with hard work and dedication.”
