Canada qualifies for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019

Canada is the 18th team to qualify for World Cup

Canada on Monday became the last team in the fifth window of the Qualifiers to book a place at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019.

Canada secured a spot at China 2019 following a 94-67 win over Brazil in Sao Pablo. The Canadians had five players scoring in double digits, with Kyle Wiltjer leading the way with 25 points.

It means 18 of the national sides that will play at the first-ever 32-team FIBA Basketball World Cup are now known. They are:

Tournament hosts: China
Africa: Angola, Nigeria, Tunisia
Americas: Argentina, Canada, USA, Venezuela
Asia: Australia, Korea, New Zealand
Europe: Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, Spain, Turkey
