The Brisbane Bullets have made their first major signing of the free agency period with former Adelaide 36ers, Anthony Drmic signing a two-year, plus option, deal with the club.

The 28-year-old Drmic averaged a career high 10.5 points per game for Adelaide last season in his fourth year in the league, which included a career high 25-point outburst against the Bullets last November.

Drmic won the 2017 NBL Rookie of the Year award and had a standout college career with Boise State, where he ranks second on the school’s all-time three-pointers made list with 275.

Brisbane Head Coach Andrej Lemanis said: "We are delighted to have Anthony commit to the club.

"I have always admired Anthony’s game from afar and can’t wait to incorporate his shooting ability into our game plan.

"Anthony is a high-character individual and always brings an abundance of energy on and off the floor. Not only will he be a value add on the court, but he will be just as important in the locker room and in the wider Brisbane community."

Drmic said: "I had a couple of different options, but I ultimately ended up going with Brisbane.

"I thought it was the best fit for me culture wise and basketball wise. There are a couple guys over there I already know and I like what Lemanis has been doing.

"I thought it was the best fit and decided to go with it. I’m excited to get over there, meet the fans, meet the people, meet the people at the club and getting this thing rolling."

Drmic joins Nathan Sobey, Jason Cadee, Matthew Hodgson, Will Magnay and Tyrell Harrison on the Bullets roster for the 2020/21 season.
