Bogdan Tanjevic: Italian Serie A has poor, sad and not even spectacular American players

Tanjevic would have maximum 4 foreigners per team in Serie A

Basketball legend Bogdan Tanjevic, technical director of all the Italian National Teams spoke with La Gazzetta dello Sport about the number of foreigners in Serie A.

“We have been punished by Bosman ruling. I would have four foreigners per team and they are a lot. This enormous number of foreigners let the club reduce the investments for the young players. And the truth is that the foreigners did not bring anything good. I watch Serie A games with poor, sad and not even spectacular American players” Tanjevic said. “I am very worried about Eurobasket 2021. It seems far but it is tomorrow. We should already know who is going to play, the core of the National Teams, and most of the payers that are expected to play in 2021 are sitting on the benches, watching Americans play. Not to mention players like Awudu Abass, that will be one of the key players of Italy for the next six-seven years, who lost the last two years (Abass has played with Milano the past two seasons before joining Brescia this summer).
