Atlanta last hosted the All Star Game in 2003.
Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has issued a statement in which she urged basketball fans not to travel to the city for the upcoming NBA All Star Game, labeling the event as a "made-for-TV only".
The Mayor has also "strongly encouraged promoters, clubs, bars, etc. not to host events in the city related to this game", adding that NBA won’t organize such events open to public.
