Dolomiti Energia Trentino announces that it has reached a one-year agreement with American point-guard Jordan Ford, who last season split his time between the NBA and the G-League with the Kings’ jersey.
A 185 centimetres by 80 kilograms playmaker, Ford is a very quick handler with a great three-point shot and a good ability to pass the ball.
Born on 26 May 1998 in Citrus Heights, Sacramento County, Ford spent his entire college career at Saint Mary’s College in California. With the Gaels’ jersey he had four excellent seasons, crowned by a senior year of 21.1 points and 2.5 assists per game, where only the interruption for Covid-19 prevented Saint Mary’s from playing in the NCAA tournament as the real loose cannon of the event.
Coming out of college, he played his rookie year in the G-League with the Ontario Clippers, only to end the season with a fleeting appearance in Greece at Peristeri.
Over the next two seasons, Ford returned to America with first the Ontario Clippers and then the Stockton Kings. The excellent performances of these two seasons in the G League allowed him to sign a two-way contract with his hometown team, the Sacramento Kings, where he tasted the NBA for 6 games. He completes the 2023-2024 season with the Kings’ G League where he produces 16.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game while shooting 50.3 % from the field and 44.4 % from the 6.75 line.
PAOLO GALBIATI (Coach DOLOMITI ENERGIA TRENTINO):
“I am very happy that Jordan accepted our challenge. We had been following him for some time, we were patient, and taking advantage of the good work the club has done over the years in developing players, we managed to convince him to cross the ocean and accept our proposal. Jordan is a young man of great talent and leadership and I look forward to working with him as we pursue his and our dreams.
