The big man recently signed a two-year deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Ivory Coast went 6-0 in the group stage and will start the 2nd round from the top position.
The two top teams in two groups, along with the best third-placed team, will qualify for the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
With six games to play, Ivory Coast (4-0) is followed by Cape Verde (3-1), Angola (2-2), Nigeria (2-2), Uganda (1-3), and Guinea (0-4).
In the upcoming FIBA window, which Ivory Coast will host, Poythress will help his new team in three games vs. Nigeria (August 26), Uganda (August 27), and Cape Verde (August 28).
Last EuroLeague season, Poythress averaged 7.7 points (2FG: 64%), 4.2 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks in 20 minutes.
