The ACB season is ready to go, but there’s some big news: two new rules have been introduced, while coach Scariolo will work as a TV analyst.
The ACB season is ready to go, but there are two big changes for the 2024-2025 season. In fact, two rules have been introduced that will affect the games, rules that we will report on below.
After a timeout, the team will have the choice of starting from the backcourt with 24 seconds or starting from the offensive half with 14 seconds. Previously this was only possible in the last 2 minutes of the game. It will also be possible to decide whether the ball will be played from the right or left side.
The referees’ decisions in Instant Replay will be fully audible on TV: previously it was only possible to hear the referees’ final decision, now it will be possible to hear the dialog and the reasons why a particular decision was made.
Another big news is coach Sergio Scariolo. In fact, the current Spain coach will be a television analyst for Movistar Plus, the channel that broadcasts the games of the Spanish basketball season. However, coach Scariolo will remain at the helm of the national team and will make his TV debut this weekend with the Supercup.
